Figure founder and CEO Brett Adcock announced that the personal AI product Hark is set to launch this week, with the first 100,000 registered users able to receive a free paid plan, and a waitlist is now open. He stated that he can no longer work without Hark.

The login page describes Hark Pro as a new system for getting things done, stating that whatever is needed can be handled by Hark. The post includes a demonstration video, but does not disclose the pricing of the paid plan, the duration of the free period, or the hardware shipping date. Some users in the comments have pointed out that the landing page provides little information on what the product specifically does.

Hark is an AI lab established by Adcock in San Jose, while he continues to serve as CEO of Figure. The company announced in May that it completed a $700 million Series A funding round, with a valuation of $6 billion, led by Parkway Venture Capital, with participation from Nvidia, AMD Ventures, and Salesforce Ventures. Adcock had previously invested $100 million of his own funds. At that time, the company stated it would work on models, hardware, and interfaces, but did not provide a timeline for hardware.

TechCrunch reported in March that Hark aims to create a personal AI with continuous memory, capable of listening, seeing, and interacting in real-time, with former Apple designers involved in the interface. Adcock wrote in an internal memo that the goal is to create a system close to Jarvis or Her, stating that existing models are not smart enough and current devices are products from before AI. The company expected to launch a new cluster composed of thousands of Nvidia GPUs in April, with models opening in the summer.

Figure is still advancing humanoid robots. Adcock told Bloomberg that Figure's robots are already using some models from Hark, and the intelligence work from Hark is crucial for scaling humanoid robots. On October 2, he stated that Figure's data collection project Index has just surpassed 1 million registered users. Figure has also signed a computing power agreement with Nscale for an initial $3.5 billion, planning to exceed $6 billion in exchange for up to 100,000 Vera Rubin GPUs, with deliveries starting in the second half of 2027 in Barstow, Texas, while Nscale also takes a stake in Figure.

This is a customer acquisition subsidy, not a new round of financing. The free slots are funded by the already secured $700 million and the founder's own funds, with the first 100,000 users being buyers, as the company exchanges paid plans for registrations and task data. The beneficiaries are Hark, which aims to secure a personal entry point before similar AI agents from OpenAI, and Figure's robot models that need real operational data. The existing assistants that charge monthly and similar startups that have hardware tied to pins and glasses are under pressure. After the 100,000 free slots are filled, pricing power will revert to the paid plans.
