Trump stated on the Truth platform that he has ended 8 wars, with 2 more soon to conclude, rescued all Israeli hostages including the last 28, released hundreds of hostages worldwide, won the Venezuela war and captured its dictator, and prevented Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, yet did not receive the Nobel Peace Prize.

The 2026 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to South African lawyer Navi Pillay for her work in international legal order and accountability for war crimes. Trump subsequently criticized the committee in a lengthy post, claiming he or the U.S. should have won the award.

The 8 conflicts he listed include Cambodia vs. Thailand, Kosovo vs. Serbia, Democratic Republic of the Congo vs. Rwanda, Pakistan vs. India, Israel vs. Iran, Egypt vs. Ethiopia, Armenia vs. Azerbaijan, and Israel vs. Hamas, stating that the leaders of the relevant countries had written to the Nobel Committee.

Trump also mentioned being close to resolving the Iran and Russia-Ukraine conflicts, asserting that any of these, especially the India-Pakistan conflict, would be worthy of a prize, claiming he should have received 8 Nobel Peace Prizes. India has repeatedly denied its mediating role in the India-Pakistan ceasefire.

Some media and fact-checkers pointed out that some of the listed conflicts are not full-scale wars, some have not truly ended or have reignited, and Trump's claim of having "ended 8 wars" is controversial.

In terms of market mechanisms, such public statements are directly disseminated through social platforms, influencing voters and international opinion. Supporters view it as a display of diplomatic achievements, while critics see it as an exaggeration of unfinished or controversial results, with funding and attention directed towards political narratives rather than specific peace processes.

Trump has previously pushed for the award publicly and mentioned that 2025 laureate Machado stated he was more deserving of the prize.
