Harold Hamm, founder of Continental Resources, has donated $150 million to the University of Oklahoma, marking the largest single gift in the university's history. The Oklahoma City Health Sciences Center will be renamed the Harold Hamm Health Sciences Center; his total donations to the university approach $250 million, making him the largest individual donor.

The funds are allocated as follows: $50 million will go to the already named Harold Hamm Diabetes Center to advance the next phase of research; $100 million will be used for talent development, recruitment of researchers, and infrastructure at the health center.
