Zilis comes from Bloomberg Beta and later joined Neuralink, having previously served on Tesla's board before stepping down due to her relationship with Musk. Their relationship became public after the birth of the twins in 2021. This year, she testified in the OpenAI lawsuit, describing her work scope as covering Tesla, Neuralink, and OpenAI, while denying the title of chief of staff. Personal relationships and professional duties were mentioned in the same segment of her testimony.

This separation did not accompany any equity transfers or position announcements. What remains is the custody of the four children and her record of having worked in his AI portfolio. Musk's companies still include Tesla, SpaceX, xAI, and Neuralink. She described their home as a resting place outside the battlefield, with no synchronized documents on the corporate side.

This situation is similar to the disclosures involving Amazon shares during Bezos's divorce, as well as the necessity for tech founders to separate from partners who are placed on boards or operational roles. Currently, it is a phase of ending a personal relationship without corporate position announcements. The children and cross-company roles mentioned in the testimony are the parts that remain connected after the separation.

Structurally, this reflects overlapping roles in the restructuring of the industry chain. The founder's family arrangements were once tied to Tesla's board seat, Neuralink operations, and OpenAI lawsuit testimony. Ending a relationship does not automatically change corporate equity, but joint custody and the boundaries of previously testified roles remain. A personal safe space can end in a week, but cross-company roles will not disappear with a single post.
