Forest: Mojo has been developed with personal funding to date

Mojo AI founder Forest stated that the project has been developed solely with his personal funds and that he has not sought co-founders. He wrote that having too much money is often not a good thing, having seen many negative cases during his years in venture capital.

He believes that the challenge is not raising money, but spending it wisely. Ample funds can lead teams to pursue aggressive and incorrect actions, diverting attention from the main issues. This statement was in response to a post discussing reasons for project failures, which listed excessive subsidies, high salaries, and low development investment as reasons for bankruptcy.

He provided internal details indicating that the testing environment has very limited server resources, which forces the team to optimize load and efficiency while coding, rather than relying on subpar code that merely runs. Constraints are placed on machines, not on people.

In the same post, he mentioned spending money on recruitment and salaries, requiring the team to use the current strongest model. Each person's basic AI subscription costs $600 per month. The computing environment is tight, while model subscriptions are generous.

Forest is also a co-founder of Foresight Ventures, chairman of The Block, and a former executive at Bitget. Mojo is positioned as an agent trading operating system, consolidating research, monitoring, risk control, and execution, allowing users to provide trading intentions and make final decisions. In an April project introduction, a Chief Operating Officer was mentioned, but he still claims there are no co-founders.

The buyer is the founder's personal funds, while the seller is not external venture capital. The event was publicly driven by his refusal to seek co-founders and external financing. Funds are directed towards personnel salaries and the $600 monthly model subscription, not towards larger testing servers. The beneficiaries are developers retained with high salaries and the strongest models, while similar projects that rely on financing amounts to demonstrate progress are under pressure. Personal funding does not involve valuation or investor seats.

The servers are intentionally kept small, while subscriptions are intentionally kept high. Both sides have not disclosed the number of team members or total burn rate, only the direction of spending.
