Solana-based DEX HumidiFi Suspends Trading Due to Internal Security Incident
Solana-based DEX HumidiFi announced on X platform that the team discovered a security incident affecting some internal systems, with the impact limited to its own funds; customer and third-party assets were unaffected.
The platform has suspended trading, and the team is actively investigating the scope of the incident. Further updates will be provided after the review, and the specific amount of losses or whether the incident was an external attack has not been disclosed.
HumidiFi, as a relatively active prop AMM on Solana, recently had a daily trading volume of approximately $214 million, with a total of about $2.47 billion over the past 30 days. Its native token WET saw a nearly 192% increase in trading volume within 24 hours after the incident, while its price dropped by about 8.66%.
The platform has previously experienced multiple operational interruptions, including the cancellation and restart of a token sale in 2025 due to bot attacks, and a domain change after a website outage in January 2026.
This incident marks the third significant operational interruption in about eight months, with the team emphasizing that customer fund security has not been affected.
From a market mechanism perspective, the platform's own funds, as the directly affected party, bear the losses. The suspension of trading has temporarily withdrawn liquidity, with the incident driven by internal system security vulnerabilities, leading to a short-term flight to safety or sell-off of related tokens, putting pressure on the platform and WET holders, while customer assets remain protected due to isolation design.

Since its launch in 2025, HumidiFi has marketed itself on high-speed trading on Solana, but faced a setback during the token sale phase when over a thousand wallet bots attacked, leading to the cancellation and restart of the entire round. Subsequently, it was forced to change domains due to a website outage, highlighting its recurring weaknesses in security and operational stability, similar to many early high-throughput DEXs that rely on their own liquidity pools rather than purely user funds.
In terms of capital pathways, the platform directly invests its own funds into market making and liquidity provision to achieve tighter spreads and higher throughput, motivated by quickly capturing market share in Solana's retail trading space. Resources are concentrated from the team treasury to on-chain pools, but this also means that if the internal network is breached, it directly erodes the platform's own balance sheet.
Similar cases can be seen with other Solana DEXs that suffered losses of their own funds due to hot wallet or internal system vulnerabilities during early expansion, while user assets were spared due to non-custodial design. Currently, HumidiFi is transitioning from rapid growth to stable operations, with repeated interruptions exposing structural contradictions in the prop model between security investment and expansion speed.
Structurally, this represents a trust reconstruction following a failure of technological substitution: the internal network has become a single point of risk, with the mechanism being a high coupling of own funds and trading systems. Once a security incident occurs, trading is forcibly suspended, compelling the platform to shift from merely pursuing trading volume to strengthening isolation and auditing, thereby reshaping user risk pricing for a model that coexists with non-custodial and self-operated liquidity.
