Machi Big Brother (Jeffrey Huang) sold Bored Ape Yacht Club #32 through his publicly linked wallet on OpenSea, with a sale price of 12.5 ETH, which was about US$27,970 at the time based on ETH at around US$2,230. The transaction was monitored and publicly reported by Onchain Lens.

In terms of capital flow, the Bored Ape Yacht Club series floor price has recently been around 8-9 ETH, and the 12.5 ETH sale price is above the floor but far below the peak prices some Apes reached during 2021-2022. Machi Big Brother has sold Bored Ape and Mutant Ape multiple times over the past few months, with some sales accompanying margin calls or liquidity replenishment needs for leveraged ETH longs on Hyperliquid.

Compared with his earlier bulk sales (for example, Lookonchain once reported that he sold 34 Bored Apes in a single month for a loss of about 399 ETH), this time was a public listed transaction for a single #32 Ape. The similarity is that both were completed on OpenSea and took place during a generally quiet NFT market; the key difference is that this sale was above some recent lower-price trades in the 7-8 ETH range, but the absolute amount was still relatively small.

For the seller, the 12.5 ETH monetization provided immediate liquidity that can be used for other position adjustments. For the Bored Ape market, a well-known holder’s single sale increases public supply, but the scale of one piece is limited, and the direct impact on the floor price depends on whether more selling follows. The transaction itself does not change the series’ smart contract or the issuer’s status.
