Bloomberg Opens ASK-B Conversational AI Interface to All Terminal Users

Bloomberg has opened the ASK-B conversational AI interface to all Bloomberg Terminal users. Users can integrate their own content with existing financial data.

The Wall Street Journal reported this. ASK-B was launched as a beta version in February 2026, based on an agent-based AI network that provides parallel access to Bloomberg data, news, research, and analysis. Users can ask questions in natural language and receive comprehensive answers with sources. It has previously been expanded to mobile, supporting continuous desktop and mobile conversations.

After the opening, users can add their own documents and data in ASK-B to build custom workflow templates. ASK-B Workflows allow for the standardization of multi-step research tasks. The system provides BQL code for structured data analysis. Bloomberg emphasizes transparent attribution and protective mechanisms against hallucinations.

Funding has shifted from a limited number of beta users to all terminal users. After combining their own content with Bloomberg data, research workflows transition from unified queries to personalized templates. The agent-based AI retrieves and synthesizes information in parallel within the terminal. The research process relying on traditional command interfaces is under pressure.

Bloomberg launched the ASK-B beta version in February 2026. Wayne Barlow and other leaders explained that it is based on a multi-agent architecture, integrating market data, documents, news, and research. Continuous mobile sessions and personalized configurations have been added previously.

The company has expanded ASK-B from testing to all terminal users and allows users to integrate their own content. Users can create custom ASK-B Workflow templates. The system retrieves Bloomberg data through parallel agents and generates attributed answers. BQL code supports further analysis.

Similar conversational AI paths have emerged on other professional data platforms, expanding from testing to all users and allowing private data integration. Currently, ASK-B is in the phase of full opening from beta, supporting user content integration.

Essentially, this represents a technological substitution and restructuring of the industry chain. Natural language interfaces and agent networks replace traditional terminal commands and manual retrieval. The mechanism relies on multi-agent parallel access to Bloomberg data and users' own content, generating attributed answers, shifting research from split-screen searches to completing multi-step tasks in a single conversation, while user templates can be reused within organizations.
