Former Google Vice President and Yahoo former CEO Marissa Mayer launches Dazzle, building an AI personal assistant from users’ photo libraries
Dazzle, founded by former Google Vice President and Yahoo former CEO Marissa Mayer, launched an AI personal assistant at the end of September 2026. The product analyzes photos in users’ phone photo libraries to obtain personal context, rather than relying on email or calendar data, to help with everyday tasks.
Dazzle can identify products from photos and help with purchases, extract information from event flyers to add to calendars, find items that need repair and schedule service, and provide personalized recommendations. The company said sensitive photos will be discarded, and users can choose full, partial or no access to their photo libraries. Dazzle previously completed an $8 million seed round in December 2025 at a $35 million valuation.
The New York Times published a feature on Mayer and Dazzle on October 25. Mayer said the tool is intended to shorten tasks that would originally take hours or minutes to just seconds.
