Vanar Announces Suspension of Ethereum and Polygon Contracts, Trading Only on Base

The artificial intelligence infrastructure project Vanar announced that the migration of the VANRY token has been completed, and contracts on Ethereum and Polygon have been suspended, with trading now only occurring on Base. The self-owned layer one will gradually shut down starting September 18, shifting focus to Foundry, the AI organization, and its economic system, with Foundry set to launch on October 1.

The migration window previously locked old coins on Ethereum, Polygon, and VanarChain at a 1:1 ratio and airdropped new contracts on Base to the same addresses. The official statement indicated that there are no fees and no separate claim button. After the window closes, the old contracts will no longer represent the current economy. The project has evolved from the Terra Virtua ecosystem and now positions itself as an AI organization platform on Base.

Shutting down the self-owned chain equates to relinquishing independent settlement and validator income, outsourcing liquidity and block space to the second layer of the Coinbase ecosystem. Balances that have not completed migration will remain on the suspended contracts, and trading pairs still linked to the old chain will become illiquid remnants without official liquidity.

Mechanically, this is a forced alignment of liquidity. Beneficiaries are the new pools on Base and those who can complete the migration; pressured parties include market makers on the old chain, trading venues that do not support migration, and addresses locked in suspended contracts. Funds are concentrated from multi-chain remnants to a single second layer, with the buy-sell spread initially widening in the thin liquidity after migration before seeking new anchors.

Independent layer ones need to support validators, bridges, and cross-chain liquidity, which small-cap projects often cannot afford. By shutting down the chain and moving the tokens to Base, Vanar acknowledges that the settlement layer can be rented, while the branding layer must be built independently. Foundry shifts the narrative from public chains to "employable AI organizations," changing the token from gas to chips for organizational economics. The chain closure date precedes the product launch, cutting off the retreat before delivery.

The capital path involves relinquishing chain sovereignty in exchange for Coinbase ecosystem users and compliance interfaces. The migration window is 30 days, and it will not reopen after expiration, shifting execution risk onto holders and exchanges. This is similar to application chains rolling settlement up to Ethereum, but the endpoint chose Base instead of the Ethereum mainnet.

Analogous to multiple game chains migrating tokens to immutable or Solana, and side chains ultimately shutting down bridges: the death of a public chain is usually not explosive but rather a contract suspension. The industry is in a phase of contraction from applications to large ecological second layers, with self-built L1s proving too expensive.

Structural judgment pertains to the reconstruction of the industry chain. The mechanism is that block space becomes a commodity, and the differentiation of small chains can only be written in applications; continuing to maintain an empty chain will burn market value on validator rewards. Whoever controls the new contracts on Base and the Foundry entry will control the remaining pricing power post-migration.

ABAB News · Cognitive Laws

  1. When validators cannot be supported, public chains will turn into someone else's second layer tokens.

  2. Once the migration window closes, old contracts will only remain as remnants.

  3. Shutting down the chain before launching the product removes the retreat from the holders' calendar.
