Jupiter COO: Over Half of Holdings in Stablecoins for Yield, Views Meme Coins as Adrenaline

Kash Dhanda, COO of Solana-based DEX Jupiter, shared his crypto investment insights in a recent podcast. He stated that he keeps over half of his holdings in stablecoins to earn yields, believing that meme coins are merely an "adrenaline service."

He pointed out that on-chain credit is currently in a situation similar to on-chain trading 3-5 years ago, beginning to show real sustainable value. The only verified path to compound interest for ordinary people is to hold stablecoins and choose protocols that are not subject to rug pulls, earning 5 to 7 percentage points annually.

He compared meme coins to video games, providing adrenaline, but most will not survive long-term, with a few like Dogecoin holding a position akin to that in World of Warcraft. If one dreams of getting rich off a meme, it’s time to change that dream.

The higher the yield, the greater the risk involved; anything promising a 20% return is pricing in some risk and should not occupy a full position. Previous market participants who lost often moved 70% of their holdings into meme coins, treating them as eternal assets.

He suggested an ideal allocation of 70/20/10: 70% in mainstream coins (Bitcoin, Solana, JUP), 20% in narrative tokens held for months to a year, and only 10% in high-volatility assets. A good project does not automatically mean the token will rise; JUP learned from the last cycle due to excessive focus on DAO politics and not treating the token as a product. The founder has now locked all tokens until 2030, with 50% of revenue used for JUP buybacks.

From a market mechanism perspective, stablecoin yield strategies attract risk-averse funds, directing capital towards sustainable protocols; events are driven by public opinions, benefiting stable yield products while pure meme speculation is relatively diverted.

Kash Dhanda, as a core operator of Jupiter, has made his investment portfolio and product lessons public, positioning stablecoin yields as a compounding engine for ordinary people while using his own JUP experience to warn against the disconnect between token management and project development.

On the capital path, he locks resources in low-volatility yields through a high proportion of stablecoin allocation, motivated by using verifiable annual returns to counter cyclical volatility, with specific actions including the public 70/20/10 framework and JUP buyback lock adjustments.

Similar cases can be seen with other DeFi founders transitioning from speculation to yield orientation, as well as reflections on meme and narrative tokens after the last bull market; the current crypto market is at a stage where credit and real yields are beginning to support trading enthusiasm.

Essentially, this is a technological substitution: high-volatility speculation is being replaced by verifiable stablecoin yields as the main path for compounding, with the mechanism being to clarify the source of returns through risk pricing, thus shifting positions from emotion-driven to sustainable protocols.
