Robinhood Reports Record Q2 Revenue of $1.31 Billion

Robinhood announced a record revenue of $1.31 billion for Q2 2026, exceeding expectations, with earnings per share of $0.62 far surpassing analyst estimates.

The performance was driven by record trading activity, net deposits of $2.17 billion, and growth in prediction markets and tokenized assets. Event contract revenue reached $156 million, more than a tenfold year-on-year increase, while options and stock trading also hit new highs, although cryptocurrency revenue fell 38% year-on-year.

Event-driven retail trading and new product revenue accelerated, with funds flowing into prediction markets and high-activity user platforms. Robinhood benefited from product diversification, while its business line relying on traditional crypto trading faced pressure.

Since entering the prediction market at the end of 2024 and continuously expanding event contracts and tokenized stock products, Robinhood has enhanced user engagement through acquisitions and AI trading tools. Q2 showed that prediction market revenue has surpassed crypto and some stock businesses, becoming a new growth engine.

On the capital front, the company is investing resources into high-turnover trading products and subscription services (with Robinhood Gold users reaching 4.8 million), aiming to reduce dependence on volatility in a single asset class while leveraging net deposit growth to expand interest and trading revenue bases.

Similar to early online brokers diversifying through options and event-driven trading, or platforms like Polymarket validating the business model of prediction markets, the current phase is a transformation for retail brokers from the crypto boom to multi-asset and event trading.

Essentially, this represents a shift in pricing power: prediction markets and tokenized assets are redefining the revenue structure of retail trading, as the high turnover and low barriers of event contracts decrease the revenue share from traditional stocks and crypto, thereby restructuring the platform's profit sources.
