Yishu Announces Departure from OKX Wallet Prediction Market Product

Yishu announced that tomorrow will be his last day at OKX Wallet. Over the past six months, he served as the product manager for the prediction market, responsible for data analysis and market lifecycle management, participating in the product's development from 0 to 1.

During the World Cup, the product attracted over 400,000 users, with a peak daily trading user count exceeding 70,000. He noted that the team has a high density of talent and a tight production rhythm, requiring rapid iteration and global 24/7 operation. On a personal note, he received a full PhD offer from HKUST in April but ultimately declined it, and he utilized AI coding to have his paper accepted at ICML and IJCAI workshops. He plans to explore AI-related directions next.

This is a public sharing of his career transition, focusing on his experience in crypto prediction market products and AI transformation. After completing a phase of product rollout, he is moving to a new field, while the relevant team continues to operate the launched business.

Tomorrow is my last day at OKX @wallet

Over the past six months, as the product manager for the prediction market, I participated in the entire product development from 0 to 1, mainly responsible for data analysis and market lifecycle (new launches, trading openings, settlements, etc.)

I feel fortunate to have worked with the team to truly bring this product to life. During the World Cup, we attracted over 400,000 users to participate, with a peak daily trading user count exceeding 70,000.

Reflecting on this experience, my biggest takeaway is that the talent density of the team is exceptionally high. The overall production rhythm is very intense.

The prediction market itself is a business that requires innovative solutions, with many problems lacking ready-made answers, necessitating rapid iteration by the team. When a new trading product must be launched globally on day one and operate 24/7, the team must maintain a tense state during the initial launch phase to promptly address various online issues and ensure stable operation. This is a challenge faced by all scaled crypto businesses.

Considering the speed of business growth, I believe the comprehensive capability requirements for team members actually exceed those of most ordinary business lines in major internet companies.

Many friends may not know that over the past year, I have had some significant updates outside of work.

  1. In April, I received a full PhD offer from HKUST, and I am grateful for the recognition from the professors and committee. Although I ultimately decided not to enroll, this was still a very exciting milestone for me!

  2. I have started coding extensively with AI: my paper was accepted at the ICML and IJCAI workshops, which is also a huge breakthrough for me.

In the coming period, I will explore some new areas related to AI. I haven't been closely communicating on Twitter for a while. Everyone is welcome to follow along, and let's stay in touch!

ABAB AI Insight

During his time at OKX, Yishu led the core module of the prediction market, coinciding with the traffic peak of the 2026 World Cup, validating the product's user attraction in sports events. The demands for stability and innovation speed in crypto trading products led him to believe that the comprehensive capability threshold is higher than that of most internet business lines.

In terms of capital and career path, transitioning from product manager to AI research and application exploration while giving up a full PhD shows a preference for practical implementation over a purely academic path. The motivation is to combine product experience with AI coding skills to find new growth points.

There is a trend of talent in the crypto industry flowing from exchange product roles to AI infrastructure or application layers, currently in a phase of personal capability compounding and industry hot topic switching.

This essentially represents a technological substitution: the traditional product manager role is being redefined by "AI-assisted coding + rapid iteration" capabilities, transforming business implementation experience into transferable AI application advantages.
